This commercial grade magnetic stripe card reader,
MSR-12-RM-K from Tysso, is ideal for point of sale appications, trade shows and conferences. It can be used to collect credit card information, attendee's registration information which was stored on the magnetic stripe. Using the latest technology, this device is able to read various magnetic stripes, including
student ID, membership card, hotel key card, security card etc.
This RS232 decoder (serial interface) CAN NOT
display the read data / texts directly to the computer applications such as
Windows Notepad or Microsoft Office Word. Instead of generating keyboard
emulations, this RS232 decoder will transform the TTL signal into standard RS-232
DataStream. Therefore, this serial Mag-Stripe Card reader can only work
with the software applications that supports RS232 communication protocol.
This serial card reader requires external 5V
power source. An AC to DC adapter is included to power this unit.
This Serial Magstripe Card Reader can acts as a dumb terminal when attached to a TYSSO Serial-Ethernet
Converter (eCOV-110) (Device Server) for remote and access control
applications. The major advantage of making such connection with a
Serial-Ethernet Converter is to save the hardware and installation costs since
the swipe card reader can be monitored and controlled by the software
application on any computers that belong to your LAN or WAN. With the
additonal Serial-Ethernet converter, you can simply connect the magnetic card reader
directly to any LAN port (Ethernet LAN Card, Hubs, or Wireless Access Points)
that is close by.
